Cannes Film Festival

Cannes was called the International Film Festival until 2002, and it’s held in Cannes, France. They show all different kinds of films, and it takes place in May at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès. They show a lot of European films, and it is attended by movie stars and producers. 

Sundance Film Festival

This is an American film festival that is held in January each year in Utah. It takes place in Park City, Salt lake City, Ogden, and the Sundance Resort. They show American and International films. It used to be a place for low-budget independent films, but it has changed to a high profile event. 

Berlin Film Festival

This festival is also called Berlinale, and it is one of the most reputable in the world. It takes place each year in February in Berlin, Germany. It is also the largest publicly attended film festival in the world, and they show up to 400 different films. They offer awards, the Golden and Silver bears, and they have a film trade fair held at the same time. 

Venice Film Festival

The third of the Big Three, which include Cannes and Berlin, the Venice Film Festival is the oldest in the world. It was founded in 1932, and it takes place in August or September each year in Venice, Italy, on the island of Lido. It is one of the most prestigious in the world. 

Toronto International Film Festival

This is another large film festival, and it draws 480,000 people each year. It has become a destination all year long for people interested in film, and they offer screenings, lectures, festivals, workshops, and discussions. It is located in Toronto, Canada, and it has films from all over the world. It starts just after Labor Day and lasts 11 days.
