This movie sits at the top of the list, having made $2.841 billion in the box office. The movie was directed by James Cameron, who is responsible for Titanic, yet another movie that broke records at the box office. 

  1. Avengers: Endgame

This movie earned a whopping $2.797 billion in the box office, which is pretty impressive for a superhero movie. The realistic CGI character execution, particularly on Thanos, is one of the reasons why this movie was such a hit.

As mentioned earlier, this movie was directed by James Cameron, who doesn’t seem to miss when making movies. This movie made $2.127 billion in the box office, which was just enough to cover the movie’s $200M budget.

There’s no surprise that this movie made it to the list. When it hit the theaters, this movie raked in a total of $912.7 million at the box office. The movie was an adaptation of an already best selling novel, so it’s no surprise it became as popular as it did.

This 1982 film made $619 million at the box office and continues to be a fan favorite to this day. In fact, this movie is said to appeal to every kind of demographic – males and females over and under the age of 25, which in turn maximizes earning potential.

In 1977, Star Wars made a whopping $410 million at the box office. It was certainly ahead of its time and not something anyone had seen before. The concept of the movie, the effects, and the acting were all just some of the reasons why this movie became so popular and continues to be to this day.
